Owned and bred by Klein Racing, the son of Noble Mission secured the most important win of his career, pushing his earnings past the $2 million mark. Despite a slow early pace and moisture in the turf, Brilliant Berti surged six wide under jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. to take command in the final furlong and win by three-quarters of a length. DeVaux praised both horses and highlighted the legacy of the Klein family at Churchill Downs. Winning the race named after the iconic Wise Dan made the moment even more special, especially since the LoPrestis—who once trained Wise Dan—also helped develop Brilliant Berti early in his career. The colt stopped the clock for the 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.41 and confirmed his affinity for the local turf with a remarkable 5-for-6 record at Churchill.
