On Sunday, June 22, 2025, the eighth edition of the “El Corsario” Classic (Grade 3) was contested at La Rinconada Racecourse in Caracas, Venezuela. The 5 1/2 furlongs event, open to two-year-old colts both locally bred and imported, was held in tribute to the second Triple Crown winner in Venezuelan racing history. From the break, the bay colt Star White seized command and, just as he had done in his debut win in the “Periodistas Hípicos” Classic (G3, 5 1/2 furlongs) on May 18, dictated the pace from gate to wire without conceding any ground to his opponents. Trained by Carlos Luis Uzcátegui, he once again finished ahead of his stablemate Zadkiel, who had to settle for second place for the second time. Star White, a son of Imaginary Sailor out of Gran Venezuela, by the dual classic winner Águila Negra, was bred and raised at Haras Alegría. He remains unbeaten in two starts, runs in the colors of Stud Yellowstone, and is ridden by champion jockey Jaime Lugo.
Este domingo 22 de junio de 2025 se disputó en el Hipódromo La Rinconada, en Caracas, Venezuela, la octava edición del Clásico “El Corsario”, una prueba de grado tres en distancia de 1.100 metros para potros de dos años, nacionales e importados. El evento se celebró en homenaje al segundo triple coronado en la historia del hipismo venezolano. Desde el mismo instante de la partida, el potro castaño Star White tomó el control de la competencia y, repitiendo la sólida actuación de su debut en el Clásico “Periodistas Hípicos” (Gr. 3, 1.100 m) el pasado 18 de mayo, volvió a dominar de punta a punta sin dar tregua a sus rivales. El entrenado por Carlos Luis Uzcátegui superó nuevamente a su compañero de cuadra y stud, Zadkiel, quien volvió a escoltarlo en la sentencia. Star White, un hijo de Imaginary Sailor en Gran Venezuela, por el doble coronado Águila Negra, nació y fue criado en el haras Alegría. Se mantiene invicto en dos salidas, representa los colores del stud Yellowstone y tiene como jinete oficial al campeón Jaime Lugo.
